June 1945. The shower is a 55 gal gas drum with a shower attachment and an ordinary tire pump. Otherwise it's air tight. The tire pump is used to pump air in the drum making a pressurized shower.
Parker Tyler's Okinawa Quarters
After the war ended the 413th was moved to Okinawa and took over the quarters of an engineering battalion that had moved elsewhere. On Ie Shima the Fighter Group lived in tents. The quonset huts were a vast improvement.
